The J.A.K Strydom Private Nature Reserve is situated ten kilometers downstream from Aliwal North on the banks of the Orange River. Our self-catering lodges can accommodate up to twenty two people. This exclusive malaria-free private Game Reserve offers 1200 hectares of indigenous beauty. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking or simply watching nature. View any of our 21 species, including rare wildlife such as Bontebok, Lechwe, Njalas, Gemsbuck, Waterbuck, Eland, Zebra, Kudu, Impala, Springbok, etc. from your patio. The reserve also has an abundance of bird life to view or enjoy fishing for the elusive Yellow fish in the Orange river.
We can accommodate up to 22 people in our two lodges. The Bontebok Lodge has three 2-bed units, each with a double bed and twin beds ideal for families. The Buffalo Lodge has 5 en-suite rooms with twin beds ideal for hunters and single travellers.
Our new hiking and mountainbike trails takes you to the most scenic parts of the nature reserve.
We have a certified game fence allowing us to host hunters throughout the year.
